During the early depression years, Lynn Hoback before marriage to Mary Ruhge, not only helped on the family farm but also worked as a farm hand for local farmers.  It was normal that he would each of seven days a week, go several miles by horse to work for Bill and Dory O; beginning each morning with milking the cows.
It was that morning before daylight that Lynn arrived at the O's house to begin the chores.  When asking for Bill,  Dory announced that he went out to the Barn quite early that morning and had not returned.  As Lynn entered the Barn, he decided that  "depression" had accompanied "the depression" and was too much for Bill, as there he hung ..... his boots still on.
