This afternoon in a discussion with a dear friend,
the subject came up about life’s challenges and
the fact that we sometimes have difficulty in
putting things in perspective or finding a reason for them.
Connecting all of the disconnected events and challenges
God hands to us, along with his confidence in our ability,
becomes a challenge all of it’s own.
Minutes after our discussion, I received an email
message from another dear friend that helped me
put things on my plate in order:
Sometimes, don't we wonder "What did I do to deserve this",
or
"Why did God have to do this to me".
Here is a
God-sent explanation!!!
A little boy is telling his Grandma how everything is going wrong.
School, family problems, severe health problems, etc.
Meanwhile, Grandma is baking a cake. She asks her grandson if
he would like a snack, which of course he does.
"Here, have some cooking oil." "Yuck" says the boy.
"How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross, Grandma!"
"Would you like some flour then?
Or maybe baking soda?"
"Grandma, those are all yucky!"
To which Grandma replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by
themselves.
But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully
delicious cake!
God works in the same way!
Many times we wonder why
God would let us go through such bad and
difficult times. But God knows that when these things are all in God's
order, they
always work for good! We just have to trust God and eventually, they
will all make something wonderful!"
God is crazy about you, sending you flowers every spring and a sunrise
every
morning. Whenever you want to talk, God will listen.
God can live anywhere in the universe…………..he but chose your heart.
……………………………….
The wonderful thing about God’s promise to us, along with the full plate he gives
to us, he also gives us the ability to deal with the chore of connecting the parts
and to assemble them in His priority and His order to see them as the complete product.
A prayer from my lips today:
Dear God, it is from the bottom of my heart that I thank you for all things you offer to
me, good and bad and that I see them an experience in life and also for your confidence
in me as a person to sort though those challenges, clean my plate and ask for more, as I
go about the task of witnessing to your other children. Thy will be done!
Amen
And P.S. God, some days I wish that you didn’t have quite so much confidence in my
abilities.
